“Love Living”

October 14, 2022

By Kimmy Foulds

Preparing to evacuate from Hurricane Ian September 28, 2022 and then realizing the mandatory evacuation order was in place too late to leave, I was guided from Above to “shelter in place.”

As I witnessed and survived the ferocious eye of the unfathomable disaster on September 28, 2022, I had a vast amount of intense solo dismayed hours that led to blended days without utilities, rationing food and recognizing the signs of this particular devastation with anew silent meditation.

Slow down without rushing.

Hang on to hold on tightly with memories.

Make up for lost time with optimism.

Unite to reunite with joyous shared minutes.

Be present in the moment that will flip to the past.

Welcome the emotions to cry and laugh.

Knit new friendships with authenticity.

Believe trials and tribulations are blessings.

Respect tenderness with humble honor.

Clasp hands in prayer for thankfulness.

Grip hugs with passionate embrace.

Indulge in fickle tastes.

Reach out to connect with sincere contact.

Learn from chaos and mistakes.

Forgive, let go and move forward.

Do only your best and know you are not perfect.

Pray and believe daily to recall what you did will never be done again.

Meet people happily with kindness.

Play and sing more often even if unathletic and off key.

Ponder challenges with a delay of a quick response.

Shaken heartaches transform into remarkable miracles.

Reinforce core values in perspective, front and center.

Love living to cherish forever.

Give your heartful attention to life.

Unchanging promises and protection are only from God.

Tell yourself and others: You are loved, You are important, You are worthy, God loves you, God will never leave you nor forsake you.

Reflect, from sunrise to sunset.
